This school does fundraises such as dress downs days to give money to organization that help our community and other countries. The past few years NICS has done a dress down day to raise money for missionaries in Uganda. The money that is given to the missionaries is used to buy medication for the people in Uganda, provide a Christmas dinner for the kids, bikes for the kids so that they don’t have to walk a long ways to their school, and to help out in other ways for the orphanage. The people that receive this money are always so thankful because it helps them to take care of people in Uganda. This also gives students the opportunity to help out people in Uganda just by paying a few dollars for a dress down day.

Recently, NICS has had a dress down day for Open Arms. This organization helps women who are pregnant to give them support and the recources they need and to help them to not choose abortion. Open Arms is always looking for donations for baby clothes and supplies that are needed for the mothers. This school had classes to work together to see which classes could bring in the most items and the Sophomores and Fourth grader’s brought in the most items and were able to have another dress down day. Having a dress down day helped provide money and supplies for this organization.

North Idaho Christian School has also helped other organizations and provides more funds for this school over the years by having dress down days. Students really enjoy wearing regular clothes and it also gives this school the chance to help out others. The students realize that this school can’t have dress down days all the time, because that wouldn’t be appropriate with the school’s policy. This school could have a dress down day each quarter and still receive funds for the same organizations and others. There are usually two dress down days per school year and this this school agreed with a dress down day per quarter, there would be four dress down days, this seems to be a reasonable idea and students would have something to look forward to each quarter and this school would be able to help out more organizations.

Dress down days bring a lot of excitement and bless other people at the same time. This school has helped provide money for several organizations and to this school for retreats and other school events. It would be a great thing if this school was willing to have a dress down day each quarter of the school year. Having dress down days is a great thing that this school does and should be continued.
