The Risk of Energy Drinks
The Risk of Energy Drinks
Energy drinks have become popular with new flavors and coffee shops selling them. Mostly kids and teenagers drink energy drinks to get the energy they need to get through the day. When kids drink energy drinks every day, their bodies start depending on the caffeine for energy, just like adults depend on their coffee for energy. There are hidden ingredients that are worse than the caffeine and sugar that weren’t meant to be put in the body. Theses drinks can give kids and students energy for a while, but the side effects are harmful.
The majority of the people that consume energy drinks are kids, teenagers, and some adults. It’s usually kids and teen that drink energy drinks, because they depend on the caffeine in these drinks to give them energy when they don’t have any. Besides wanting the caffeine from the drinks, they like the taste of the drinks because they have added flavors and sweeteners that make it more addicting for kids and teenagers. The most common energy drinks are red bulls, monsters, and rock stars. Ingredients of energy drinks are sugar, caffeine, carnitine, taurine, and more. Taurine sounds like a scientific name for a chemical that gives energy when in reality it’s bile from a bull and is found in most energy drinks. Energy drinks can give kids energy at first, but there are some side effects that can increase their chances of having high blood pressure and a heart attack.
Any drinks that have a high amount of caffeine can cause higher blood pressure, since the caffeine is making the body work faster. This high amount of caffeine can also cause shakiness, high stress levels, and a higher risk of having a heart attack. Drinking an energy drink every once in a while doesn’t mean that people will have high blood pressure or a heart attack, but if they drink them several times a day on a regular basis, then it is more likely that they could have a heart attack or have a higher risk of high blood pressure. There have been some kids who were reported to have a heart attack, because they drank too many energy drinks in a day. Kids or young adults should be aware of the ingredients and side effects of energy drinks.
People should be more aware about what they are drinking, especially if it could harm their health. Many kids and adults feel so stressed and tired, whether it’s a lack of sleep or stress from daily life. They feel that they need artificial energy from these drinks to keep them going when energy drinks can cause them to has less energy throughout the day. Instead of relying on energy drinks or drinks with caffeine, people should find other ways to get energy. They can try going to bed earlier, drink more water, eat healthier, and exercise. This won’t be easy at first, but people will feel a lot more energy than they did drinking energy drinks.
